Almost 2 years ago, my heart started racing, and I felt like I couldn't move without falling over. It's been two years of procedures and medications to try to get this under control so I could continue my life here in Africa.
During this time, I felt incapable of doing any real work. However, Mamadou Niang, our project manager, kept several projects going and took on a new major project at the school in Cabrousse, Senegal. The construction of a new classroom. There just wasn't enough space for all the students with 45-60 students crammed into each room.
In the next blog entry, we will show you the construction of that class from start to finish.
We also have been doing some work on a cooperative (co-op) backpacker hostel and restaurant on the beach. The restaurant will perform double duty as a classroom for adults and youth who cannot attend the public schools.
I am sorry that I haven't been able to update these entries on our website in such a long time, but we will do better from now on.
Thanks for understanding.
