My partner in Cabrousse...
Abdoul Aziz Faye is a friend I had made a year ago in Saly, Senegal, when I got stuck there because of the Coronavirus lockdowns. When the roads finally opened up 5 months later, he decided to join me on my trip to Casamance.
Together, for the last 5 1/2 months, we have accomplished some really great things at the local middle school and high school.
He works with me because he has a strong belief that his mission in life is to help everyone he comes into contact with. He is an exceptional man, and I feel so privileged to be working with him.

Because we so rarely have money, he practically works for free, when he does receive a little bit of money from KOVA, he sends it all to his family.
People here are having a very difficult time surviving, because of the coronavirus, tourism is nonexistent, and so much of the economy is based on tourism. The majority of the people are having a difficult time providing food for their families.
